Unemployment Self-Help Options and Lobby Scheduling

Unemployment Self-Help Options and Lobby Scheduling

Colorado Department of Labor and Employment Logo
Introduction
This form is intended to help claimants figure out the fastest way to get help with their claim and, if necessary,  request in-person appointments at the Unemployment Insurance (UI) lobby located at 621 17th Street, Suite 100 Denver, CO 80202.

After reviewing feedback from a large number of UI claimants, our division has made the decision that starting in February 2024, we will move to in-person help by appointment only. In-person lobby assistance will only be offered to those claimants who have made a scheduled appointment in advance.

Our lobby availability is limited to no more than 40 appointments per day, so we strongly encourage claimants to use the self-help options whenever possible. Our goal is to preserve the lobby for those claimants who are in the most need: those with no access to technology, limited technological skills, or special assistive needs.

If you are simply dropping off paperwork or forms, you do not need to make an appointment. We have a secure dropbox available in the lobby from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

UI Self-Help Options
Our primary self-service option is MyUI+, the central place to file a new claim or manage your existing claim (including requesting benefit payments, reviewing your tax information, updating your address or other contact information, reactivating your claim if you become unemployed again, and much more). You can log into MyUI+ here: MyUI+ Claimant Login .

What is the UI Lobby Unable to Help With?
Our lobby staff is unable to help with the following situations. Please read this list carefully, as we do not want you to make an appointment if we will not be able to help you:
  • Your claim is going through a fraud investigation. There is currently no way to expedite these investigations. Please review all instructions sent to you, and respond to any requests for information as quickly as possible. For additional questions, you can contact us by phone: https://cdle.colorado.gov/unemployment/contact-us
  • An issue on your claim (such as a job separation) is still being processed. This requires our adjudicators to contact you (and possibly your employer) for information, and cannot be expedited through the lobby. Please respond to any requests for information as quickly as possible.
  • Your identity needs to be verified. You should first attempt to verify your identity through our TrueID system (instructions here  ).  If you prefer to verify your identity in person, you can do so through a local United States Postal Service location (instructions here ). However, if you have attempted both methods and were still unable to verify your identity, lobby staff may be able to help.

  • You do not know how to use a computer or other technology, and are unable to call our phone number.
  • You have attempted both TrueID and USPS in-person identity verification, and were unsuccessful at verifying your identity with either.
